About

The Europa-Institut offers a masters degree in European Integration with the possibility of specialization in European Economic Law, Foreign Trade, European Management, Media Law and European Protection of Human Rights. The program can be completed entirely in German, entirely in English or in a combination of both languages, depending on the desired specialization. After the 9-month study program, students have three months to write their thesis. Students are free to choose when to start working on it and can therefore choose to write it at a later date, for instance whilst in employment.

The long-standing tradition and experience of the Institute is of great benefit to our students. The mixture of lectures, seminars, interactive-exercises, moot courts, language courses and communications training, allows us to offer an optimal combination of theoretic knowledge and practical application. Along with professors based at Saarland University, we have guest lecturers from an array of countries, top officials from all major European institutions and leading personalities from the judiciary, administration, political sector and the business realm. Our student body is made up of graduates from over 30 different countries.
The Europa-Institut has an excellently well equipped library, which also serves as a European Documentation Center, and publishes its own academic journal, namely ZEuS (“Zeitschrift für europarechtliche Studien”).
