LLM students successful at International Air Law Moot Court in Delhi, India

The University of Leiden, Netherlands, team won the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition in Delhi, India. In this first ever Air Law Moot Court Competition in the world, the team also obtained highest scores for their written memorials.
Leiden´s team consisted of Michel Adam (Switzerland), Tridev Budia (Mauritius) and Mildred Trögeler (Germany).

McGill University, Canada, LLM candidates Ondrej Fabrici, Yue Huang and Robin Holman placed second in the competition. The McGill team also received the prize for best oralists for the respondent.

Both finalists competed against teams from China, India, the Russian Federation and South Korea.

The Moot Court case was titled "Strangers and Dangers in the Air", and involved issues of public international law, including the law of treaties and questions regarding State responsibility and liability, public international air law and the binding force of international safety rules. The competition was co-organised by the Leiden University International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL).

In 2011, the competition will be held in Dubai.
