The RGSL faculty is an important part of RGSL’s standing as a reputable institute of higher learning. The resident members of faculty offer in-depth knowledge in their respective fields of competence. Visiting professors from internationally recognised universities and organisations conduct much of the teaching. Leading practitioners from European and financial institutions as well as law firms appear as guest speakers on courses.

The Master's degree qualifies as a model program for European studies: it has been officially approved, and is supported by, the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science Research and Technology, the European Commission and the “Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.”

Chapman has over 40 full-time faculty including a Nobel Laureate, five former U.S. Supreme Court clerks, and professors who hold degrees from Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago, Pennsylvania, Berkeley, Michigan, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, Georgetown, UCLA, and USC among others. In addition to our full-time faculty, we are very proud of our program adjuncts, who are respected practitioners in their areas of expertise and bring real world experience and a teaching dynamic to the classroom.

The curriculum enables students to gain both a theoretical understanding and a practical insight into the specific skills required by banks and corporations, international law firms and consulting and accounting firms, the European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and BaFin (German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority).

and IP law. In order to guarantee that the training offered to our students is practice-

Most staff engage in research and publication. In the Department of Professional Legal Studies staff produce well known practitioner texts. More generally, the School has an international reputation in international and comparative law, socio-legal research and international commercial and financial law. In the Research Assessment Exercise 2001 the School was awarded 5, one of the top classifications and in the 2009 exercise 85% of the research submitted was rated ‘international quality’.
