The University
Case Western Reserve University is a prestigious private university with an endowment valued at over 1.8 billion. Federal and private research funding exceeds $400 million each year. The Law School
Case Western Reserve University School of Law has more than 115 years of exceptional experience producing some of the world's finest leagl scholars and practitioners. The law school was accredited by the American Bar Association in 1923 - the very first year of ABA law school accreditation. The school offers a legal education that combines theory with practice and a curriculum of over 200 course that prepares students for leadership in the practice of law, public service, and commerce. Location
Case Western Reserve University is located approximately five miles from downtown Cleveland in University Circle, a 550-acre preserve housing one of the richest concentrations of culture and education in the U.S. The Law School is just a short walk from such distinguished neighbors as the Cleveland Museum of Art, Severance Hall (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), the Cleveland Clinic, and 43 other institutions dedicated to the advancement of learning, science, medicine, religion and the arts.

LLM Course Structure
The Master of Laws degree is a one-year, full-time program designed to give graduates of foreign law schools an opportunity to study the U.S. legal system, intellectual property, and international law and trade, and to become truly capable lawyers in the 21st century's global economy. Our LL.M. stuents have access to 170+ JD courses, as well as courses especially designed for the needs of the LL.M. students. Our students, who come from 70 countries, form a close-knit community and become involved in law school activities with their JD classmates. LL.M. students benefit from individual attention and guidance in a family atmosphere. Our LL.M. students receive comprehensive instruction in U.S. legal research, writing, and anlysis, and a weekly workshop to monitor individual progress.

Admission Requirements
Admission decisions for the LL.M. programs are based on the ability of the applicant to thrive in a demanding academic program, as evidenced by the applicant's academic record and professional accomplishments, and on the candidate's ability to add to the richness of the academic and extracurricular program.

Fees and Funding
Academic year 2011-2012:
A total of $ 55,450.00 financial funding is needed for LL.M. students for the academic year 2011-2012, which includes tuition of $42,450.00, books, health insurance and living expenses for the nine-month duration of the program. Living in Cleveland is very comfortable and inexpensive as compared to other major U.S. cities.
Merit Scholarships for the LL.M. in U.S. & Global Legal Studies
are availalble to outstanding applicants. These merit scholarships take the form of partial reduction of tuition, one-half to be credited in the fall semester and the other half in the spring semster. In awarding the scholarships, the following criteria are considered: TOEFL of at least 100 or IELTS 7.0, personal and professional accomplishments, financial needs and georgraphic distribution.

Pre-LLM Course
SUMMER LANGUAGE AND LAW INSTITUTE
The Summer Language and Law Institute is an intensive four week training experience designed to 1) introduce participants to the practice and study of law in the U.S., 2) to provied a practical introduction to U.S. legal researc and analysis and 3) to improve participant's English language skilsl through an integrated English for Legal Purpose program.
In some cases, completion of the Language and Law Institute will be a requirement for admission to the LL.M. program.
Legal Professionals who do not have time to do a full-year LL.M. program are welcome to come to the summer program. A student visa is not required to attend the Language and Law Summer Institute. This is a certificate program with no college credit toward a degree.
